Over 2,500 people take part in the Aware Christmas Run every year to help raise funds for Aware’s Depression and Bipolar Disorder information, education and support services. Last year our supporters raised €80,000 to help maintain and develop Aware’s vital services which thousands of people across Ireland benefit from each year.
A massive thank you to all our regular participants and a warm welcome to all of our first-timers for 2016! The Aware team will be there to cheer you on all the way.
The Aware Christmas Run has an AAI permit and chip timing.

The Christmas Run now in its 11th year has developed into much more than ‘a run’. It represents for many people a platform to stand up and show support for people who experience depression and show that it’s okay to talk about your mental health. Many participants on our run have personal experience of depression and take part to remind themselves how far they have come on their own journey.
Read what one of our 2015 participants, Leanne Keane shared on Facebook about Aware’s Christmas Run 2015.

Walk the Camino Way for Aware
16 – 23 of September 2017
7 days on the French Way – Sarria to Santiago
About the route
The French Way or Camino Francés (#caminofrances) is the most famous of all the Camino de Santiago routes, featuring in many documentaries, books and movies such as ‘The Way’.
Along the French Way, you will discover beautiful cities, charming medieval towns and stunning landscapes: the Pyrenees, the vineyards of La Rioja, the vast open spaces of the Meseta, the rugged mountains of Léon and O Cebreiro and finally the peaceful hills of rural Galicia before reaching Santiago de Compostela.
The last section of the French Way from Sarria to Santiago is also the most social part of the route, where you will meet many fellow trekkers and find the real spirit and camaraderie of the Camino!
