Event FAQs

How do I register?
Online registration has now closed but you will be able to sign up on the morning of the run in the Phoenix Park. Late registration costs €25 per person and takes place from 7.30am until 9.15am on Acres Road near the start line. See race map (opens in new window) for the exact location.

Where does the money go?
Your registration fee goes towards covering the costs of the race: insurance, timing chips, water, administration, etc. The money you raise through sponsorship helps us to continue our work so please make as big an effort as you can to get support from others.

What are the transport / baggage / etc. arrangements on the day?
We advise anyone taking part to use public transport to enter the park. Full details of road works, traffic restrictions and baggage arrangements on the day can be found here.

How can I collect sponsorship?
Your race pack contains a sponsorship card that you can use to collect donations from friends, family and co-workers. You can also raise funds online by following the link to the MyCharity.ie website. Just sign up to collect for the Aware Christmas 5 Mile Run and you'll receive a link to your personal fundraising page that you can email to people you know.

Why has the route changed from 10km to 5 miles?
Unfortunately, ongoing works in the park mean that the route has been shortened from our usual 10km. A number of other races this year have also been affected. Follow the link to see this year's route.

How will I get my race pack?
If you signed up online, we will post out your race pack to you. If you are signing up on the day, we can still arrange for you to collect sponsorship afterwards - either online through MyCharity.ie or with a sponsorship card. Race numbers have been posted out to all advance online registrations so you should have it a few days before the race at latest.
