It can prove especially useful if you are having a return visit to your doctor – it gives them a realistic picture of how your mood has been since your last appointment, and means there is less pressure on you to remember all of those details.
The mood diary also helps to educate you about the particular nature of your experience of depression and the triggers which may cause a dip in your mood. And of course it can show you how far you have come.
