A reminder that a Walk4Aware event takes place in the Phoenix Park at 3pm this Sunday, May 9th. The walk will last for no more than about half an hour (including registration, the event will take about an hour in total).

Rather than focussing on sponsorship, the organisers have instead suggested that each participant make a €15 donation to Aware. Registration will take place at 3pm at the Castleknock entrance to the park, where the walk will also end after going to Wellington's Monument (and back).

We hope to see you there - and if you can't make it, why not organise your own Walk4Aware for another location or date?

Hi Everyone. Dont panic! Its actually a leisure walk only to the Phoenix Monument (about mid centre of the Park)  and back. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Yes, just to reiterate, in case it’s not clear above - the event in total (not the walk) will take an hour. The walk itself shouldn’t be too difficult and anyone should be well able to join in.

Thanks Martina!

Hi Martina,

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday, I have roped in a couple of friends with invitations to others pending.  Hope we get a nice fine dry day.

Best regards,
Annette

Thanks Annette. We have some acoustic guitar music arranged at the Castleknock Gate Registration point to get all the Walkers in the Mood! and a sponsored soft drink along the way to keep the Spirits up!

Also the weather is looking promising. Mainly fair with only the threat of an odd shower. Inner walkway in the Phoenix Park is quite sheltered.

Looking forward to seeing you all for a bit of fun…

Thanks to everyone for turning up and for all the good will.  The weather was glorious. Thanks to the Transition Years students from Castleknock Community College who provided the ‘Glee’ music and to Tesco who sponsored the soft drinks. Thanks to all my family and friends who helped with the organisation of the Walk.  Please tell all your friends to watch out for the event again next year.
