Important: please note that Aware will not be arranging a Camino trek for 2012. If you are interested in walking the route independently and collecting sponsorship for Aware, please contact our Fundraising team on 01-6617211 or at fundraising@aware.ie

We're holding an information day on the 2012 Camino Walk for Aware, which will take place next May along a choice of the main pilgrim routes. All routes finish in Santiago de Compostela and you will earn your Camino Credencial after completing the final 115km.

If you're interested in taking this challenge with Aware, you can find out more at our upcoming Camino Information Day. The event takes place at 1pm on Sunday 7th August at the 53 Degrees North outlet in Carrickmines and families, friends and walking enthusiasts are all welcome to attend. Along with The Camino Ways and 53 Degrees North, we'll tell you all you need to know about completing this famous journey, including:

• A Camino presentation by Natasha Murtagh (co-author of 'A Father-Daughter Journey from Croagh Patrick to Santiago de Compostela') and Roland Monsegue (director of Camino Ways).
• An equipment workshop with the staff of 53 Degrees North.
• A 'Walk For Aware' talk from Jeremy Perrin on what's involved in trekking for charity.

Other attractions on the day:

• Donkey riding with Slieve Aughty Equestrian Centre, Loughrea
• Wine tasting with Mackey Ways Wines
• A chance to support a good cause and register your interest in Aware's 2012 Camino Trek
• A competition in conjunction with Camino Ways and 53 Degrees North to win a holiday for two and your full walking equipment.

Hi Jeremy,
I wont be able to make it to the infomation day, but what are the possibilities of the talks being video recorded and put up on the site so that people who are interested but cant make the open day can see and hear the advice and discussions afterwards.

We’re still working on a few of the final details but the talks may indeed be filmed. If they are, we’ll be sure to put them up here on the site so keep an eye out for more details…

I am reading the Buen camino book by natasha and peter Murtagh, i looked up one of the recommended websites and i saw the camino walk for aware add, i would love it if you could e-mail me on the imformation, i would be interested.
