Late registration and raceday details

Online registration for the Aware Christmas 5 Mile Run has now closed but that doesn't mean you've missed out completely! Late registration will be available on the morning of the run from 7.30am to 9.15am. This costs €25 per person (see where the money goes) and will take place on Acres Road near the start line. See race map (opens in new window) for the exact location.

A few other notes about the arrangements on the day for everyone taking part:

Punctuality
It is important to be on time if the run is to be a success (we have the use of the route for a limited amount of time due to the road works and traffic restrictions involved). The run will start at 10am sharp!

Parking / getting there
There is limited parking available in the Phoenix Park due to road works which are taking place in the park. Most of Chesterfield Avenue is closed due to these road works. We advise all participants to use public transport to access the Park on the morning of the run. Please bear in mind that there will be road closures in place in the park starting at 9.30am.

Road Closures
Chesterfield Avenue, from Gough Monument to Mountjoy Cross: closed all day due to road works.
Odd Lamp Road: closed from 9.30am to 12 midday (St. Mary's Hospital & Phoenix Cafe access only).
Khyber Rd: closed from 9.30am to 12 midday.
Military Rd: closed from 9.30am to 12 midday.
Upper Glen Rd: closed from 9.30am to 12 midday.

Gates to be Closed
Chapelizod Gate: closed from 9.30am to 12 midday (St. Mary's Hosptial & Cara Cheshire House access only).
Knockmaroon Gate: closed from 10am to 12 midday (exit only).

Baggage
There will be a baggage tent set up near the start line. If you wish to avail of this, please remember all baggage is left at the owner’s risk.

Can I pay aware Christmas run late registration by visa?

Hi Gary,

Unfortunately, late registration is cash only. The credit card machine we have would require some connections that won’t be available in the park on the day.

Hello, I’ve already paid but haven’t received my bib. Will I be able to pick one up at the race or will I have to pay again? Thanks.

That’s no problem - we can see your registration there so apologies about the mix-up. I’ve given your details to the organising team and there will be a race number at the late registration area for you.

Just wondering if we’ll be getting timing chips tomorrow as I didnt get one in the post with my race number?

Hi Angela,

The race number and chip are actually packaged together - if you look at the reverse of the number, you should see the chip included there.
