Just a quick reminder to all Galway-area cyclists that the annual Connemara Cycle fundraising event takes place tomorrow. Organised by volunteers in Galway, this will be the fourth in a series that has raised more than €50,000 in total to support our work so far.
This year's cycle will take place Saturday April 16th and anyone interested is invited to join in. This fun charity event attracted over 130 cyclists in 2010 and is a great contribution from the west of the country to Aware.
Start point is again Peacocke's Hotel, Maam Cross, beginning at 11am. Cyclists of all levels can take part, with 30-mile and 55-mile routes to choose from. Both routes are looped and finish back at Peacocke's. See map below for details.
For more information on doing the cycle or helping out at the event, please contact the organising committee at cycleaware@gmail.com or on 086-3154315.

Hi! Can you give us some idea’s of the two routes which you have chosen, and the start time of the event?
Hi Will,
As it says above, the start time is 11am.
I’ve added a map of both routes to the post above, hope you can make it!
Hi.
I am interested in taking part this year but I don’t have a bike.
Is there a facility to rent a bike especially for the event or can you recommend somewhere in the area that I could rent one?
Hi Greg,
Great to hear you’re interested. I think the best thing to do would be to contact the local organisers using the details above - they’d be best placed to help you find a rental shop nearby.
Hope it works out for you…
Please keep me updated of events and I would be interested in doing some fund raising if required
Kind regards
Helen
Hi Helen,
The best way to keep up with everything is to follow either our Facebook or our Twitter page:

They’ll each have details of all our various events. I’ve also passed on your details to our Fundraising team, where someone will be in touch.
Thanks for your interest.
