Ireland’s first and only mental health arts festival, First Fortnight, will take place in Dublin during the first two weeks of January.

Staged in association with See Change, Ireland’s mental health stigma reduction movement, the festival aims to use live music, spoken word, theatre, film and visual arts to challenge stigma and create open discussion and understanding of mental health problems.

The line-up will include 565+, a real-life theatre piece about Marie O'Leary's theatre-inspired recovery from depression that was staged during the 2010 Dublin Theatre Festival, The Devil And Daniel Johnson, a documentary about the musician's life with manic depression (bipolar disorder), and exhibitions from visual artists, including the photography project from Sinead McDonald that we featured a while back.

For full details, see the First Fortnight website.
