While January has given way to February, thoughts here are already turned towards March and the annual St. Patrick's Day Harbour2Harbour Walk. Taking place on Thursday 17 March (obviously), this 16.2 mile walk between Howth Harbour and Dun Laoghaire Harbour is always a fun day out for family, friends and individuals. The walk starts at 10.30am and takes approximately 4 hours to complete. You can choose to start at Howth and walk south, or vice versa. Either way, you get a great sense of achievement and a great view of Dublin Bay.

Advance registration has now closed but you can still sign up on the morning of the walk itself (€15 per person). For more information, or to volunteer to help with registration or stewarding, just call 01 661 7211 or email fundraising@aware.ie

Hope you can make it along.

Is it possible to sign up somewhere else, credit card needed for online signup, thanks

Hi Sinead,

Yes - as the post above says, you can also sign up on the morning of the walk itself at either start point. We’ll have exact details of that up in the week leading up to the 17th.

Thanks.

Are there any shuttle buses between the two harbours, just wondering if I left my car at start, how would I get back to it!

Posted by Anne  on  7 Mar 2011  at  12:58

Hi Anne,

There are no shuttle buses as the DART runs pretty much direct from one end of the route to the other. You can check times, etc. on http://www.irishrail.ie

Enjoy the walk!

Have you any idea what the story is regarding toilet facilities en route?

Posted by Ingrid Doyle  on  15 Mar 2011  at  13:31

Hi Ingrid, there are toilets and a drinks station at the junction between the Clontarf Road and the Alfie Byrne Road. There are also a few pubs, cafes, etc. along the route that you could drop into if necessary.

Enjoy the walk!

This is my first charity walk, really looking forward to it. Completed a 25km walk on Sunday so I know I’m prepped and psyched for this!

Hi,

Just wondering how many people you are expecting tomorrow?

Thanks

Sharon, not sure on exact numbers yet as more people will register tomorrow - but looks like a good turnout so far.

Paul, well done. Hope you’re not too tired after tomorrow!

Sinead, see link below for details. There’s also a post scheduled to go up shortly with details.

Hello,

Will the routes be marked so we know where to go or do we have to print the map and take it with us tomorrow? Are there signs along the way?

Thanks

Hi Leticia,

There will be stewards along the route to guide you. You can bring the map with you if you want but it’s not a necessity.

Enjoy the walk.
