Now in its fourth year, the 2011 Trim Swift Festival will take place from the 30 June to the 3 July in Trim, Co. Meath.
This year's festival features a number of exciting events to commemorate Jonathan Swift, including a readathon to raise funds to support our work. Attractions include:
- A round table discussion featuring Rory Bremner, Minister Leo Varadkar, Minister Pat Rabbitte, Noel Whelan, Harry McGee, Terry Prone and many more. This lively debate will be held over a four course meal.
- A full day of satire on Saturday held in a marquee at Trim Castle - contributors include Alan Shortt and Barry Murphy from Apres Match among others.
- A Gulliver's Travels readathon in aid of Aware on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (1 - 3 July). 100 people are needed to read 3 pages each of Jonathan Swift's classic, with donations made to Aware by all those who take part in or listen to the readings. As a final touch, the readings will take place in a Suzuki Swift.
For more information, including a full schedule of events and information on taking part in the readathon, please visit the Trim Swift Festival website.
It’s great to have the people of Trim supporting Aware in another Festival! I’ll be reading in one of the Suzuki’s, looking forward to it!
Hope you enjoy the day, Michelle - and thanks for your support at the High Kick competition.
