Hi, I am looking forward to the 5km fun run. My Dad wants to do it with me but he wants to walk the 5km is it exclusively for runners or can people walk the route also?

      Hi Mandy,
Most people run but there are some walkers. Your Dad is welcome to walk the route. Thanks for supporting the event.

Hi wondering if we could take our 9 and 15 year olds with us for 5k and be handed over to the dad’s before we went on? Is it logistically possible. Tks Wendy

      Hi Wendy,
This should be possible as the 5K is one lap, starts and finishes in the same place and the 10K is 2 laps. The kids should be able to meet their Dad at the finish line of the 5K while you continue to do a second lap. Please refer to our route map Aware.ie

The Aware 2010 run is the very first run I ever done (it had to be postponed due to very very heavy snow) and ever since I’ve been bitten by the running bug. Is there a medal or t-shirt for the finishers? I’m looking at promoting the run in work, do you have posters you can email or pop in the post for me to use? Thanks Shane

      Hi Ciara,
No, participants fundraise by choice Ciara. If you pay the registration fee, you are still helping Aware raise funds and that is all that is required to join The Christmas Run. See you there!

If so, could it be done even on race day ?

      Hi there,
If you are planning to walk or run 10K with a buggy, to ensure the safety of you, your son and other runners or walkers please start at the very back of the 10K group of walkers and runners.

      Hi Derek,
Yes, you both need to register to take part in the Aware Christmas Run. You can decide to walk on the day if you like. We have a few walkers taking part, however the majority of people will run the 5K or 10K. Thank you for your support!Good luck.

      Hi Karen,
Race numbers are still being posted today and tomorrow. If you don’t receive one by Thursday you can contact fundraising@aware.ie or pick up a race number on the day at the registration tent before 10am. Thanks for your support!

    Hi there,
Are there finishers medals for either the 5 or the 10k? Can I enter on the day? Thanks

      Hi Lorraine,
Yes! You can enter on the day, just register early at the ‘late- registration’ tent. There will be medals and nice warm Cully & Sully soup at the finish line.

Hi Gary, Yes you can give the race number to another friend and track the time via the original person’s name on the online update by Precision Timing after the race.
