On Saturday, October 3rd over 650 people attended Aware’s 30th Anniversary ‘Pearl’ Ball sponsored by Appleby Jewellers, Hyundai Cars Ireland, Phone Pulse, Riverdance and Umit Kutluk at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, Dublin 4. This incredible turn out to mark 30 years of Aware’s work included significant representation from the corporate sector.

Twenty-five companies supported the event by direct sponsorship, donating auction items or booking corporate tables. Many of Aware’s volunteers, including a number of those who originally helped to set up the organisation along with Founder Dr. Patrick McKeon, attended. During the evening guests were asked to stand up if they themselves or a loved one had at any point been impacted by depression or a mental health condition and practically everyone in the room stood up.

Aware would like to thank all our sponsors, auction and raffle prize donors and guests who attended. Together you generously helped raise just over €50,000 for Aware’s work. We hope that you enjoyed the evening and for anyone new to Aware as an organisation we hope you walked away with a real understanding of how vital Aware’s work is and the difference that it can make in people’s lives.

A very special performance from Riverdance drew a standing ovation on the night and Dublin band The Usual Suspects played an energetic two hour set. Thank you to everyone who in any way supported this event and helped make it a very special night for everyone involved. Aware could not have done it without you!

Given that Aware relies on fundraising events like this for 92% of our annual funding, work has already begun on our next event, and we hope that you will stay in touch and we will see some of you again at Aware events in the future!

Aware’s free CBT based Life Skills programmes are now open for registration.

Myself and my husband had a great night, a great cause & and heart felt empathy to all the courageous speakers as 30 years ago their voices would not have been heard, well done to everyone involved .
