David O’Connor is a fitness professional from Dublin (football trainer) who has challenged himself to complete 10 marathons over 10 consecutive days to raise awareness of mental health. He will complete this 260 mile challenge between the 20th and 29th of April 2018 on an athletics track.
Davy has battled his own mental health issues and is grateful that he had the strength and support to pull himself out of this. He feels that everyone has either been through something like that themselves or knows someone who has experienced it. He is using an athletics track for this challenge to symbolize the isolation, repetitiveness and the pain those suffering with any form of mental health problems go through.
