Following a successful pilot phase, Aware’s CBT-based ‘Living Life to the Full’ course will soon launch fully.
The first course will run from 26 October in Dundalk, with sessions taking place on six consecutive Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 8.30pm. The venue will be the Crown Plaza Hotel, Dundalk.
If you are currently feeling anxious or depressed, you may benefit from taking part. The course is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which has been shown to be especially helpful for people affected by mild to moderate depression/anxiety. It uses resources developed by Dr Chris Williams, Senior Lecturer in Psychological Medicine in University of Glasgow. Dr. Williams has developed many self-help resources, including the books Overcoming Depression and Low Mood – A Five Areas Approach and Overcoming Anxiety, Stress and Panic.
It is an educational course, provided free of charge, which teaches skills that everyone affected by depression can use. Participants do not have to share their personal experiences with other course members, though you must be able to commit to attending every class.
