Registration is now available for Life Skills Online, Aware’s new programme based on principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Life Skills Online (previously known as Mind Balance) is aimed at individuals who are experiencing mild to moderate depression. The programme may also be used as a preventative tool for individuals who are susceptible to difficulties with low mood but are not currently depressed.
The programme is comprised of seven modules, each covering a different topic. Participants can
complete the modules online, in their own time, over seven consecutive weeks. The programme is
self-directed – meaning that participants can choose what module to try first and can skip backwards and forwards between modules and activities as they prefer. Each Life Skills participant will be partnered with a ‘Supporter’, a trained Aware volunteer. The Supporter provides encouragement and feedback if the participant chooses to share any of their online work with them.
Aware volunteers can currently support 280 programme participants. If you are not offered a place on the programme starting in June we will place you on a waiting list for the next programme planned to commence in August 2013.
