Peter Mark fundraises €60,000 for Aware

The Petermarkathon campaign raised an incredible €60,000 for Aware’s Beat the Blues positive mental health programme for teenagers.

This seventy-minute programme highlights the symptoms of depression, when and how to seek help, and also explains the basic principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). A key feature of the programme is its focus on resilience: how we can develop it and become stronger as a result of facing and coping with challenges in our lives.

Thanks to the funds raised by Peter Mark salon teams and customers during the Petermarkathon, Aware can continue to deliver this important programme to transition year students in schools across Ireland in 2016. Over 102,000 students aged between 15-18 have taken part in this interactive programme since 2012.

We can’t say a big enough thank you. This is an invaluable contribution from Peter Mark. Aware is grateful to everyone involved in this campaign supporting young people’s mental health. Research tells us that 75% of mental health difficulties first emerge between the ages 15 and 25 so it is vital that young people are resourced with information on how and where to access support for themselves or their friends.
