A massive thank you goes out to all the people who took part in Race the Rás 2012 and raised an incredible €120,000 for Aware and the NBCRI (National Breast Cancer Research Institute).A special thank you to the dedicated road crew that supported the cycle and to Tesco for sponsoring the race.
If you would like to get involved in events that support Aware take a look at our events calendar and check out sporting and other events happening in your local area over the coming months. We look forward to the craic at all these events and if we are lucky a little bit of sunshine too.
Aware was chosen as one of the two charities to benefit from this year’s Race The Rás, which took place from May 20th – 27th 2012.
The Rás (Irish for race) is an international cycling event dating back to 1952, covering 1,200km across 8 stages over 8 consecutive days. Race The Rás is an associated event, which consists of sponsored amateur cyclists riding the same route as the Rás, on the same day, but with a few hours’ head start! Some participants cycled a few stages while others completed all 8!
The race took our cyclists through the 8 stages below and luckily the weather was sunshine all the way.
