RTÉ 2fm presenters Ruth Scott and Louise Heraghty are encouraging ladies throughout the country to sign up now to take part in this year’s Flora Women’s Mini-Marathon, which takes place on Monday 4th June, and raise vital funds for the work of Aware, Ireland’s leading depression support agency. The official closing date for entries is just a few weeks away on April 20th, but this will be brought forward if capacity for the event is reached sooner.
Ruth and Louise, both long-time supporters of Aware’s work, have already signed up online at florawomensminimarathon.ie. To join Team Aware, sign up on the official event site now and then simply contact Aware directly on 01 661 7211 or firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest and receive your fundraising pack. Ruth says: “Every year, lots of ladies leave it to the last minute to register for the mini-marathon and unfortunately cannot take part due to the limit on capacity. I urge anyone who is thinking about doing it to sign up straight away. Louise and myself are hoping for a massive turnout for Team Aware this year and we’re really looking forward to what is always such a feel good day.”
Last year, over 400 participants took part in the event for Aware, raising a total of €60,000 for the organisation’s work. All funds raised will go towards Aware’s support, information and education services, including support groups nationwide and online; loCall helpline and email support service.
Sign up now and don’t miss out on your place!
