Zurich Insurance has announced a three-year partnership with Aware, the national charity that provides support, education and information around depression.
The partnership was selected by Zurich’s 400-strong workforce and will be led by employees who aim to raise €100,000 for Aware over its duration through sponsored events and fundraising initiatives.
In the month of June alone, employees have raised €12,000 for Aware through a range of fundraising activities as part of its Global Community Week programme.
“We are delighted to announce Aware as our new charity partner, an organisation which makes such a difference to the lives of people who have been impacted by depression and we look forward to working with them over the coming years and helping to support the good work that they do,” said Maurice Cullen, chief marketing officer for Zurich Insurance.
Clinical director of Aware Dr Claire Hayes added: We are so pleased to partner with Zurich Insurance for the next three years and to have the support of their employees in raising funds for Aware. Their commitment will allow us to continue to provide invaluable services and support to people across Ireland who have been affected by depression. It will also help us to continue our work in educating and researching effective ways of understanding, coping with, and preventing this common condition.”
