Wellbeing Programmes

Wellness @ Work

We can organise talks with employees, as well as senior leadership teams.

Mental health is something that we all have and something that we need to work at. It enables us to participate fully in life and get the most out of what we do. We all encounter situations and scenarios that can cause us stress. Knowing how to deal with these and actively managing them can help to minimise the impact they have on us and on our life.

We offer a suite of workplace wellness programmes to respond to the increased need for mental health awareness and resilience development within the workplace.

Our programmes have been developed under the guidance of Aware’s clinical team and they aim to:

  • Help employees understand the importance and value of looking after their mental health and to use relevant coping skills
  • Help managers learn skills and identify strategies for assisting employees who are dealing with challenges.
  • Gain awareness of the early warning signs of mental health problems and increase the opportunity to refer people to early support and intervention as required.

All programmes incorporate key skills based on principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and are delivered by professional trainers, all of whom have received extensive initial and ongoing training from Aware.

1 hour: All employees

Positive Mental Health at Work: Building Strength for the Future

Aim
To increase attendees knowledge of the need, and benefits, of wellness in the workplace

At the end of the training attendees will be able to;

  • Identify the warning signs and symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder
  • Describe & apply basic cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) principles to workplace circumstances
  • Recognise principles for coping and good mental health

Methodology
The pace of this session is designed to generate a stimulating and participative learning environment for a maximum of 30 attendees, per session. The content will help increase the attendee’s knowledge of stress, anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder symptoms. It will also describe a coping mechanism, based on the principles of CBT, and provide the opportunity to apply these principles using typical work based scenarios to demonstrate how to cope more effectively. Overall the session will increase attendees’ awareness of mental health in the workplace, and its impact.

The session lasts for 1 hour and can be delivered during a lunch break.

Half-day: Management & Executives

Wellness@Work: Managing Mental Health in the Workplace

This programme incorporates key skills based on the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and has been developed under the guidance of Aware’s clinical team.

Designed for
Line managers, supervisors and/or HR managers responsible for dealing with, and supporting, employees in the workplace

Aim
To help attendees proactively support wellness in the workplace

Objectives
At the end of the training attendees will be able to;

  • Identify the warning signs and symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder
  • Describe & apply basic cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) principles to workplace circumstances
  • Recognise the principles of a good wellness at work conversation with an employee

Methodology
A stimulating and participative learning environment generated in a classroom style programme, ideally delivered to a maximum of 12 managers per session.

The content will help increase the attendees’ knowledge of stress, anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder symptoms and generally increase their awareness of mental health in the workplace, and its impact. The workshop will also provide ideas on how to structure and construct effective wellness at work conversations with employees considering various scenarios. Also, during the training, the opportunity for attendees to apply the theory, in the form of   a practical exercise  involving role play with case studies, will simulate a manager/employee wellness at work conversation. This activity will help consolidate the learning from the training content and equip attendees to develop their newly acquired skills on return to the workplace. These newly acquired skills are wholly transferable which means the attendees can practice them outside of work to develop a valuable life skill

Duration
The session is designed to be delivered over half a day.

"Aware facilitated a Manager Resilience Training workshop for over 40 of our people leaders . This engaging and thought-provoking session provided real insight and practical guidance, to help our leaders understand and strengthen their personal resilience and that of their teams. I would recommend Dr Brannick and the Aware team to any company wishing to help their leaders navigate the difficult challenges they face in this critical area."

"The Wellness @ Work program has been an extremely beneficial exercise for all of our team here. We enjoyed the session and gained a new awareness of how to manage day to day stress as well as what can compound it.
