Training Partners

We frequently recruit professional, experienced Training Partners to deliver our adult and school education programmes, on a self-employed contract basis. We recruit two types of Training Partners:

  • Training Partners with experience delivering training to groups of adults and/or students in schools
  • Training Partners who are qualified Mental Health Professionals who have extensive experience delivering training

Mental Health Professional

What is the Relatives & Friends Programme?

The Relatives & Friends Programme is a psychoeducational programme designed specifically for those supporting a loved one experiencing depression or bipolar disorder. The aim is to focus on the self-care of the supporter, while also equipping the supporter with the tools to understand and support a loved one experiencing depression or bipolar disorder.

The programme is six hours over the course of four weeks (90 minute sessions) and is available to anyone aged 18 years and over. More details >>

If you wish to be considered as a Mental Health Professional Trainer, you must be:

  • Self-employed and understand you will be hired on a sessional basis only

  • A qualified and experienced Mental Health Professional e.g. Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Counsellors, Psychiatric Social Workers, RPN

  • Very strong at communication and presentation skills in the virtual sphere, using Zoom, and face to face delivery skills

  • Willing to commit to deliver a minimum of 2 programmes per 6 month contract

 

It is essential before you apply, that you follow these guidelines:

  1. Inform yourself about Aware and in particular our Relatives & Friends Programme
  2. Read the role criteria
    (applicants can be considered for one, or both of the roles, providing criteria requirements are met)
  3. A formal training/teaching qualification (minimum Train the Trainer) is highly desirable

What is the Life Skills Programme?

Aware’s Life Skills Programmes are based on the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). We offer two versions of this programme, one for adults delivered in venues around the country and one for senior cycle, secondary school students delivered in the classroom.

LSP for adults is delivered over six consecutive weeks in a group setting. It is designed for people experiencing mild to moderate depression and participants can learn how to manage their feelings when they feel stressed, worried or depressed, and learn simple and practical skills to help them cope with life’s challenges. More details >>

LSP for schools is delivered during a pre-arranged double class time (70 mins) over 4 consecutive weeks, in a relaxed way. The programme is very effective in helping students to learn new ways of dealing with life and its difference challenges. More details >>

 

If you wish to be considered as a Training Partner, you must be:

  • Self-employed and understand you will be hired on a sessional basis only

  • Very strong at communication and presentation skills in the virtual sphere, using Zoom, and face to face delivery skills

  • Willing to commit to deliver a minimum number of programmes per 6 month contract (2 programmes for adults; 4 programmes for schools)

  2. Read the role criteria
    (applicants can be considered for one, or both of the roles, providing criteria requirements are met)
