Investing in Volunteers Award 2019-2021
We are delighted to announce that Aware has achieved our Investing in Volunteers Award 2019-2021, the national quality standard for good practice in volunteer management. Aware first received this standard for the period 2015-2018. Attaining the award for a second time is recognition of the organisation’s ongoing commitment to providing a quality volunteer programme, where the recruitment, training and support of our volunteers is of the utmost importance.
Renewal of this standard required a comprehensive application process and an independent assessment to include interviews with a random and representative sample of 30 volunteers about Aware and our volunteer programme.
Since its inception over 30 years ago, Aware has been a volunteer led organisation. The dedication and commitment of our volunteers ensures that Aware can continue to deliver our services nationwide – facilitating our Support & Self Care Groups, answering calls to our Support Line, replying to emails on our Support Mail services and supporting clients availing of our Life Skills Online Programme. Our volunteers allow us to deliver a quality service that makes a difference in the lives of others each and every day.
We are extremely proud of the loyalty, enthusiasm and kindness shown by our volunteers and remain fully committed to maintaining our volunteer programme to the highest standards.
