Dr Finnegan introduces a pilot clinical trial underway at St. Patrick’s University Hospital which is exploring the use of the drug Ketamine for relapse prevention following successful Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). This study will be of particular interest to individuals who experience severe clinical depression and who have high incidence of relapse. The aim of the research team is to offer patients a sustained period of wellness and improve the quality of life during this period.
